If the indicator light stays dark, check whether the appliance is actually receiving power before assuming the lamp itself has failed. On a heated cooking appliance, a dead indicator can also mean the unit is not safe to continue using.
- Check the socket, plug and detachable cord connection. Expected result: the light should come on once the appliance is properly powered.
- Move the thermostat away from the lowest setting and back again. Expected result: the light should react as the temperature control is adjusted.
- Test the appliance briefly in another suitable wall socket. Expected result: the light should illuminate if the socket and cord are working.
- Inspect the cord and plug for signs of overheating, damage or looseness. Expected result: all parts should remain intact and cool.
- If the indicator still does not come on, stop using the fondue. Do not dismantle the appliance or bridge the connection. If the issue remains unresolved, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
Several of the listed fondue models include power indication light(s) and a detachable cord with thermostat, so a non-working light is worth checking early during troubleshooting.
