If your shaver does not start, the cause is often a flat battery, a poor charging connection, or an on/off control that is not being fully engaged. Stop checking the appliance if you see damage, hear crackling, or notice heat, moisture or a burning smell.
Check the power source
- For cordless models, charge the shaver for the full time stated in the supplied instructions.
- For corded models, confirm that the plug is fully inserted and the socket is working.
- Try the on/off switch again once power is confirmed.
If the appliance starts after charging or reconnecting, the issue was likely a simple power interruption.
Check for a blocked or jammed head
- Switch the shaver off before touching the cutting area.
- Remove hair from the blades or trimming head with the cleaning brush supplied.
- Make sure no comb attachment is fitted incorrectly or trapping the cutting parts.
- Test the shaver again briefly.
A jammed cutting head can prevent the motor from starting. The product manual advises regular cleaning after use to keep the appliance working properly.
Stop using it if
- The appliance still will not start after a full charge or a working socket test.
- The cord, plug or housing looks damaged.
- The unit becomes hot, gives off a smell or makes an unusual noise.
If the problem remains unresolved, or safe use is uncertain, stop using the shaver and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased for the available next steps.
