Why does my parasol fabric keep slipping inside the protection bag?

If the fabric or canopy keeps shifting while you are putting the parasol away, the parasol is usually not folded evenly or the bag is being fitted before the canopy is fully compact. Stop if the fabric is trapped, the frame resists folding or the bag must be forced on, because that can stress the ribs and fabric.

Fold the parasol in stages

1. Lower the parasol fully before trying to place it in the protection bag.
2. Fold the canopy evenly so the fabric sits flat against the ribs.
3. Do not bunch the fabric into one side of the bag.

An even fold should make the parasol slimmer and easier to cover.

Check for trapped fabric

1. Look along the edge of the canopy for twisted sections or folds caught near the runner.
2. Straighten the fabric gently before re-covering it.
3. If the bag closes normally after that, the issue was likely the folding position rather than the bag itself.

Stop using it if the cover will not fit
