Why does my parasol keep dropping or sliding down the pole?

Use these checks

1. Make sure the parasol is fully inserted into its stand or base and that any fastening is tightened according to the supplied instructions. Expected result: the pole sits firmly without movement.
2. Open the parasol a little and see whether it stays where you leave it. If it slides down immediately, stop turning the crank and check for a poor fit or visible wear. Expected result: the position holds steady.
3. Confirm that the base is stable and level. A shifting base can make the pole sink or tilt. Expected result: the parasol remains in place.
4. If the parasol is on base weights, check that they are fitted evenly. Expected result: the load is spread more securely.

Stop using it if it will not lock

Stop using the parasol if it will not hold height, the pole slips repeatedly, or any clamp, screw or joint looks damaged. If safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where you bought it.
