Why does my foot bath need warm water before I use it?

Modified on Tue, 25 Aug at 8:02 AM

Some foot baths are designed to maintain warm water, not to heat cold water up to bathing temperature. That is why the supplied instructions recommend filling the bath with warm water if you want a warm soak from the start.

What to do

  1. Use a jug or small bucket to add water that is already warm if you want the best result.
  2. Do not expect the appliance to change cold water into hot water quickly.
  3. Place the unit on a stable surface and test it again with the correct fill level.
  4. Check that the selected function matches the result you want, for example heat, vibration or bubbles.

This is a common setup issue rather than a defect. If warm water still cools too fast or the bath never feels warm, move on to the heating checks in the other troubleshooting steps.

Stop using it if

Stop using the appliance if the cord, plug or selector becomes hot, if water leaks, or if there are any signs of damage. Safety comes first when electricity and water are involved.

Next step

  1. Repeat the test using warm water only.
  2. Keep the unit dry outside the bath area.
  3. If results are still poor and you are unsure whether the appliance is safe to use, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
