A foot bath that cools down quickly is often working as designed, because the heater is intended to maintain warmth for a limited period rather than keep reheating colder water indefinitely. Using water that is already warm and keeping the room reasonably warm can help the bath hold its temperature for longer.
Simple checks
- Confirm that you filled the bath with warm water before switching it on.
- Check that the water level is within the recommended range, as too much water can take longer to hold heat.
- Make sure the appliance is on a flat, stable surface with space around it.
- Keep the lid, if supplied, in place during use only if the instructions allow it.
Some cooling is normal as soon as your feet are removed, especially if the water started at a low temperature. If the bath loses heat almost immediately, the heating function may not be working correctly.
Stop using it if you notice this
Stop using the appliance if it leaks, tips easily, or the cable, plug or controls show signs of damage. Do not continue testing a faulty electrical appliance with water in it.
Next step
- Unplug the unit and let it cool.
- Repeat the test with fresh warm water and the correct setting.
- If the water still cools too quickly and you are unsure whether it is safe to continue using it, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
