Why is my air styler attachment not locking on properly?

Modified on Tue, 25 Aug at 8:02 AM

If an attachment feels loose or keeps coming away, stop using the air styler until it is fitted securely. A loose attachment can move during styling, reduce performance and create a safety risk if it becomes hot or slips unexpectedly.

1. Let the appliance cool and remove the attachment

  1. Switch off, unplug and wait for the appliance to cool fully.
  2. Remove the attachment carefully, following the supplied instructions.

If the attachment is hard to remove, do not force it. Allow a little more cooling time and try again.

2. Check for obstruction or misalignment

  1. Look for hair, dust or product residue around the connection point.
  2. Refit the attachment so it sits straight and fully in place.

Even a small amount of debris can prevent a secure fit. When correctly fitted, the attachment should feel stable and should not wobble during use.

3. Confirm you are using the intended part

  1. Compare the attachment with the supplied accessories.
  2. Make sure the part matches the appliance and is not damaged.

If a part is bent, cracked or visibly worn, it may no longer hold securely. Do not continue to use a damaged accessory.

4. Stop use if the fit remains loose

  1. Test the appliance briefly only after the attachment is fitted again.
  2. If it still slips, wobbles or clicks out of place, stop using it.

If safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
