Why does my air styler make a strange smell after cleaning?

If your air styler smells unusual after cleaning, the most common reason is that moisture, residue or cleaning products are still present on the appliance or attachment. Let everything dry fully before the next use. If you smell burning, electrical odour or see signs of damage, stop using it.

Check that everything is fully dry

1. Switch off and unplug the appliance.
2. Leave the appliance and attachments to air-dry completely in a cool, dry place.
3. Make sure no water has entered the housing, cord entry or switches.

Expected result: the smell should fade once the parts are dry. If it does not, continue.

Remove any residue safely

1. Wipe the exterior with a soft cloth slightly dampened with water.
2. Do not use strong chemicals or immerse the appliance in water.
3. Allow the appliance to dry again before reusing it.

Expected result: the smell should become less noticeable if it was caused by residue from cleaning or styling products. If the smell remains strong, continue.

When to stop using it
