Uneven cake pops are usually caused by filling levels, lid position or heat distribution rather than a serious fault. The cake pop maker has a non-stick surface, automatic temperature control and space for 12 cake pops per session, so it should cook most evenly when the batter is portioned consistently and the lid is kept closed during baking.
- Check that each cavity has roughly the same amount of batter. Very full moulds can overcook at the edges and stay soft in the middle.
- Close the lid fully and avoid lifting it repeatedly during the first part of baking.
- Use the maker on a level surface so the batter sits evenly in the moulds.
- Try a second batch with slightly less batter if the first batch had different results from one side to the other.
- If one side remains much paler or cooler after a normal cooking time, stop using the appliance and unplug it.
Expected results are cake pops that rise and set at a similar rate across the plate. If the issue continues after you have adjusted portions and cooking time, the retailer or store where it was purchased can explain the next steps. Do not continue using the product if the cooking surface seems to heat only in one area.
