Why does my night light have dust or marks that I cannot wipe away?

Dust, light marks and fingerprints are common on a small plug-in night light, but stubborn marks can sometimes be due to surface wear rather than dirt. If the housing is cracked, cloudy in a way that affects use, or getting hot, stop using it immediately.

1. Unplug the night light before cleaning.

   Expected result: the surface should still let light through evenly. If the mark looks like an internal haze, it may be wear rather than dirt.

4. Do not scrub, soak or use sharp tools.

   Expected result: the finish should stay intact. Harsh cleaning can damage the casing and reduce safe use.

5. Stop using the product if cleaning reveals cracks, heat damage or electrical concern.

   Expected result: cosmetic marks alone are usually less serious than damage or unsafe behaviour. If the issue remains unresolved, or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where you bought it.
