Why does my coffee maker switch off during brewing?

Modified on Thu, 20 Aug at 3:59 PM

If the appliance stops partway through brewing, it may have reached a safety limit, lost power, or become blocked. Switch it off, unplug it, and let it cool before you inspect anything.

  1. Check the power supply. Make sure the socket is working and the plug has not come loose.
  2. Check for overheating. Let the appliance cool fully before restarting it.
  3. Check for blockage. Inspect the filter area and water path for coffee residue or limescale build-up.
  4. Test with a smaller amount. Use a normal water fill and a modest coffee dose to see whether the brew completes.

Expected result: The appliance finishes the brew cycle without stopping early.

When to stop: Stop if the appliance repeatedly cuts out, gives off a burning smell, or the cable or plug becomes hot.

When to contact support: Contact support if the machine still stops mid-brew after cooling and cleaning.
