Why is my pet feeder lid not sealing properly after refilling?

If the lid does not sit correctly after refilling, the hopper may not be aligned, or a small amount of food may be trapped in the closing area. A poor seal can let moisture in and may also affect feeding consistency, so it is worth checking before further use.

Check the closing area

1. Open the feeder and inspect the rim, hinge and lid edge for food crumbs or residue.
2. Remove any trapped pieces, then close the lid slowly and evenly.
3. Listen and feel for a proper seat, without forcing the lid down.
4. Refill with dry food only if the closing area is completely clear.

When to stop using it

If the lid still will not close securely, stop using the product until the issue is resolved. An insecure lid can expose the food to air and moisture, and it may interfere with safe, reliable feeding. If the problem remains unresolved, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.

To help prevent recurrence, wipe the rim after refilling and avoid overfilling the hopper. Leaving a little space at the top often makes the lid easier to close properly.
