Why does my foot bath stop heating after I add more water?

Modified on Tue, 25 Aug at 10:13 AM

If the foot bath warms up, then seems to stop after you top it up, the water may have been added outside the intended range or the unit may need time to recover after the temperature changed. It can also happen if the appliance is moving between functions or the protection system pauses heating. If water splashes onto the controls or the plug, stop using it immediately.

What to do

  1. Switch the unit off and unplug it before adding more water.
  2. Refill only to the level stated in the instructions, not above it.
  3. Allow the water to settle, then switch the heating setting back on.
  4. Wait a few minutes and observe whether the temperature starts rising again.

What the result means

If heating resumes once the water level is corrected and the unit has had time to stabilise, the issue was likely caused by overfilling or a temporary pause. If it still will not heat after refilling correctly, the thermostat or heater may not be operating properly.

When to stop using it

Stop use if the unit cuts out repeatedly after every refill, if the cable or plug feels warm, or if any part of the housing is damaged. If you cannot resolve the issue safely, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
