A warm, pinched or damaged power cable is a safety concern and the feeder should not be used until the problem is understood. With mains-powered appliances, the safest first step is to stop using the unit and inspect the cable visually only, without opening anything.
Check the cable without using the feeder
- Unplug the feeder from the mains supply.
- Look for cuts, kinks, crushed sections, exposed wire or a loose plug.
- Check whether the cable is trapped under furniture or bent sharply at the entry point.
If the cable looks normal and was only warm after extended use, allow it to cool completely before reconnecting.
Decide when to stop using it
- Stop using the feeder at once if you smell burning, see discolouration, or notice sparking or intermittent power.
- Do not tape over damaged insulation or route the cable where it can be pinched again.
- Do not attempt electrical repairs or open the housing.
If the feeder still cannot be powered safely after checking the cable and socket, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased. A damaged mains cable should be treated as unsafe until inspected by the appropriate repair route.

- Keep the cable straight and visible
- Do not pull the feeder by the lead
- Keep water away from the power connection
