If your feeder loses the clock or feed schedule after a power cut, the backup battery may not be supporting the memory function correctly. This is a common first-line issue, and the feeder should usually return to its saved schedule once power is restored if the battery system is working properly.
Restore power and check the battery
- Reconnect the feeder to mains power.
- Check whether the time and schedule are still visible in the app or on the feeder.
- Inspect the backup battery, if fitted, and make sure it is seated correctly and not flat.
Expected result: the feeder should keep or quickly regain the correct time and programmed feed plan. If the schedule is lost every time the power fails, the battery may need replacing.
Reset the schedule carefully
- Set the time again using the app or feeder controls.
- Recreate the feeding schedule and confirm each entry is saved.
- Test with a manual feed so you know the feeder still responds normally.
Stop using the product if: the feeder loses power repeatedly, the battery area looks damaged or the unit behaves unpredictably after power is restored.
If the problem continues, or you are unsure whether the product is safe to use, stop using the product and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
