If the airflow seems weak, start with cleaning and checking the intake and attachments. Reduced airflow usually comes from blockage, a poor fit or a setting that is lower than expected. Stop using the appliance if it overheats or the airflow drops to nothing.
Check the intake and outlet
- Unplug the appliance and let it cool.
- Remove loose hair, fluff and dust from the air inlet and outlet. Even light build-up can noticeably reduce airflow.
- Make sure any filter or removable grille is fitted correctly again before use.
Check the attachment fit
- Refit the attachment so it sits straight and secure.
- Try the appliance with another accessory, if supplied. If airflow improves, the first attachment may be partially blocked or not seated correctly.
- Observe whether the weak airflow happens on all settings or only one. If it is only on one setting, that setting may be functioning differently.
Check the room and hair condition
- Very damp or very tangled hair can make the airflow feel less effective. Towel-dry hair first and detangle before styling.
- Do not cover the inlet with your hand or rest the appliance on soft surfaces while it is running.
- If the airflow improves after cleaning and refitting, the issue was likely minor maintenance rather than a fault.
Stop using it if
- The motor sounds strained or uneven
- The appliance becomes unusually hot
- The cord or plug feels warm, or the unit cuts out repeatedly
If the problem remains, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.
