Why is my chopper leaking liquid or wet ingredients?

A leaking chopper usually means the bowl is too full, liquid has been added to a model that is not meant for it, or the lid and cup are not fitted tightly. Stop and check the assembly before using it again.

1. Unplug the appliance immediately and wipe up any spilled liquid. Expected result: the base should stay dry once the contents are removed.
2. Check whether the food you are using is suitable. The manuals for these choppers say they are not intended for liquid and are not suited to hot food or hot liquid. Expected result: only suitable ingredients should be prepared in the bowl.
3. Make sure the bowl is locked onto the base and the lid is fully seated. Expected result: the parts should click or sit firmly in place.
4. Reduce the quantity and keep the fill level below the maximum mark. Expected result: the contents should no longer rise into the lid or overflow during pulsing.
5. Inspect the bowl, lid and seal, if present, for cracks, distortion or residue after cleaning. Expected result: the parts should sit flush with no visible damage.

If liquid still escapes, stop using the chopper. Do not run it with wet ingredients if your model is only intended for dry chopping or grinding, and do not use the appliance if you suspect damage. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.
