Why does my chopper look damaged after washing?

If the bowl, lid or blades look cloudy, scratched or bent after washing, the problem may be wear, a harsh cleaning method or accidental impact rather than the wash cycle itself. Stop using the appliance if any part is cracked, distorted or no longer fits securely.

1. Unplug the chopper and remove all parts. Check each item in good light for cracks, chips, warping or sharp edges. Expected result: the parts should remain smooth and intact.
2. Make sure only the removable parts were washed and that the motor base stayed dry. Expected result: the base should be completely dry and undamaged.
3. Rinse away any remaining detergent and dry the parts thoroughly. Expected result: no film or residue should remain on the food-contact surfaces.
4. Reassemble the chopper carefully and confirm that the lid and bowl fit as before. If they do not, do not use the appliance.
5. If you can see structural damage or the chopper no longer locks correctly, stop using it and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.

The product feed says these choppers have dishwasher-proof parts and easy disassembly, but damage, warping or a poor fit after washing still means the appliance should be taken out of use until it has been checked.
