If the sandwich maker feels unstable, it may not be sitting level or the non-slip feet may not be gripping properly. Stop using the appliance if it rocks heavily, slides during use, or the base appears cracked or warped.
- Place the appliance on a flat, stable, heat-resistant worktop away from the edge. The expected result is less movement while heating and closing the lid.
- Check the feet and lower housing for dirt, moisture or damage. Wipe them clean and dry them fully before trying again. The expected result is improved grip.
- Make sure the cord is not pulling the appliance to one side. Re-route the cable so it does not tug on the machine. The expected result is a more even stance.
- Open and close the lid gently to see whether the movement of the lid is making the base shift. If so, reduce pressure and check again on a firmer surface. The expected result is a steadier appliance during use.
- If the unit still slides, rocks or appears distorted, stop using it and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
For prevention, keep the counter dry and avoid placing the appliance on cloths, mats or other soft surfaces that can make it wobble.
