If the hand blender does not start, begin with the simplest checks: the appliance may not be assembled correctly, it may not be plugged in securely, or the button may not be held long enough. If you smell burning, see damaged parts, or the cord is warm or cracked, stop using the product at once.
- Check that the plug is fully inserted into a suitable wall socket and that the socket works with another appliance. If the socket has no power, the problem is external and the blender cannot operate until power is restored.
- For models with detachable parts, make sure the stick blender or accessory is attached as described in the manual and that it is locked in position. If it is not seated properly, the safety circuit may prevent operation. When it clicks or stays firmly in place, try again.
- Press and hold the relevant speed button without releasing it too quickly. The manuals for these hand blenders show that the appliance runs only while the button is pressed. If it starts only intermittently, continue to the next step.
- Remove the blender from the ingredients and try a brief test in a measuring cup with a small amount of suitable food. If it starts there, the bowl may be too full or the ingredients may be too heavy for the first blend.
- If the appliance still does not respond, unplug it and inspect the cord, plug and visible housing for damage. Do not use the hand blender if anything looks loose, cracked or overheated.
If the issue remains unresolved, or if safe use is uncertain, stop using the product and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased. A retailer can explain the available next steps.
