Why does my slow juicer keep reversing or jamming?

If your slow juicer repeatedly reverses or appears to jam, the feed may be overloaded, the fruit may be too large, or the parts may need cleaning. Stop using it if the jam is accompanied by a burning smell, smoke, vibration or repeated loss of power.

How to clear it safely

1. Switch off and unplug the appliance before touching the feed area. This model includes a reverse function, which is intended to help clear a blockage rather than to be used continuously.
2. Open the feed area and remove any large pieces of fruit or vegetable. Check that the conical screw and mesh filter are free from compacted pulp. The model has a 75 mm refill opening, so pre-cutting may still be needed for awkward shapes.
3. Restart with a smaller amount of produce. Expected result: the juicer should run forward steadily once the blockage is cleared and the load is reduced.
4. If the juicer jams again, stop and clean the removable parts before another attempt. Continuous refill is supported, but the feed should still be gradual.

When to stop

• Stop using the product if reverse is the only way it will run, or if the screw remains stuck after cleaning.
• Stop using it if any part is cracked, bent or difficult to remove safely.
