Why will my slow juicer not start after I clean it?

If your slow juicer will not start after cleaning, the most common reasons are that one of the removable parts is not seated correctly, the appliance is not fully dry, or the power connection was disturbed during reassembly. Before checking, switch it off and unplug it so you can work safely around the juicing chamber.

Check the assembly first

1. Remove the juicing parts and refit them carefully. A slow juicer will often refuse to run if the chamber, filter or cover is not locked into the correct position.
2. Confirm that the juice tank and pulp container are placed correctly and that nothing is caught between the parts.
3. Make sure the appliance has been dried fully after washing. Even dishwasher proof parts can still need extra drying before reassembly.

Then check the power supply

1. Plug the appliance directly into a suitable wall socket and check that the socket itself is working with another low-risk appliance if needed.
2. Look at the cord for damage or a loose connection at the plug end.
3. If the machine still does not respond, do not keep cycling the power switch.

When to stop using it

Stop using the juicer if the motor is silent but the appliance smells hot, if any part does not lock securely, or if water may have entered the electrical area. Do not attempt to open the housing. If the problem remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
