Why does my slow juicer keep blocking even after cleaning?

If your slow juicer keeps blocking, the cause is often leftover pulp, a misfitted filter, or ingredients that are too large or too wet for a steady feed. Clean powerfully enough to clear the blockage only when the appliance is switched off and unplugged.

Work through the likely causes

1. Empty the pulp container and check that it is seated correctly. An incorrectly positioned container can interfere with the flow of waste material and slow the machine down.
2. Remove the juicing parts and inspect the stainless steel mesh filter and conical screw for fibres, pulp or food residue.
3. Wash and dry the removable parts carefully, then refit them in the correct order. Even small assembly errors can cause repeated blocking.
4. When testing again, feed produce gradually. The 75 mm opening reduces the need for pre-cutting, but very hard or fibrous items may still need to be cut smaller for smoother operation.

What the result means

If the juicer runs normally after a slower feed and a proper clean, the issue was likely overload or residue build-up. If it blocks again very quickly, there may still be an assembly problem or a damaged internal part.

When to stop using it

Stop using the juicer if you must keep forcing the feed, if the auger no longer turns freely, or if the motor sounds strained after cleaning and reassembly. Do not bypass the blockage. If the problem stays unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
