If your chopper does not start when you press the lid, the most common cause is that one of the safety parts is not fully locked in place. The appliance is designed to run only when the bowl, cup, lid and motor unit are correctly assembled, so this is usually a simple fit issue rather than a fault.
Check the assembly first
- Unplug the appliance and let it stop completely.
- Remove the lid and check that the bowl or cup is seated flat on the base.
- Refit the blade carefully, then place the food in the bowl without overfilling it.
- Lock the lid and motor unit exactly as shown in the supplied instructions, then press down again.
If the motor starts after refitting, the appliance was not fully engaged. If it still does not respond, try a different wall socket and check the plug and cord for visible damage.
What to observe
- If the appliance works only when pressed in one position, the lid or cup is probably not aligned correctly.
- If nothing happens in any socket, the power supply or internal safety interlock may be at fault.
- If you hear the motor trying to start and then stopping, stop using the appliance and recheck the assembly.
When to stop using it
Stop using the chopper immediately if the cord, plug, lid or base looks damaged, or if it needs force to make it start. Do not bypass the safety switch or try to open the housing. If the problem remains unresolved, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased for the available next steps.
