Why is my crêpe maker buzzing or clicking but still cooking normally?

A soft buzz or click can be part of normal thermostat cycling, especially while the plate is maintaining temperature. If the appliance still cooks normally and there is no smell, smoke or overheating, it may not indicate a fault. Stop using the crêpe maker immediately if the sound becomes sharp, irregular or is joined by a hot cord, smoke or vibration.

1. Listen closely to the sound pattern. A brief click at temperature changes is more likely to be normal than a continuous buzz.
2. Check whether the appliance is touching another object or whether the cord is vibrating against the worktop. Small contact points can amplify normal operating sounds.
3. Confirm that the base is stable and the non-slip feet are gripping the surface properly. Movement can make a normal thermostat sound seem more noticeable.
4. Watch the cooking result. If the crêpe maker continues to heat evenly and the ready light behaves as expected, the noise may simply be part of operation.
5. Unplug and inspect for damage if the noise is new, louder than usual or linked to another symptom. Any sign of electrical damage means the appliance should not be used again.
