Why does my crêpe maker trip the power when I switch it on?

Direct answer

If the appliance trips the power, unplug it and check the socket, cord and appliance for visible damage. Do not keep resetting the supply until you have ruled out a faulty cable, plug or outlet.

Diagnostic steps

  1. Test the wall socket with another appliance.
  2. Inspect the crêpe maker cord for cuts, kinks or heat damage.
  3. Make sure the appliance is completely dry and free from spillages.
  4. Try the crêpe maker on a different socket in the same room.

Expected result

The appliance should power on without causing the circuit to trip.

When to stop

Stop immediately if there is burning smell, sparking, or visible damage to the plug or cable.

When to contact support

Contact support if the crêpe maker repeatedly trips the power after you have confirmed the socket is working normally.
