Why does my heater not stay warm enough in a large room?

Heaters in this range are designed for domestic use and some manuals note they are best suited to well insulated spaces or occasional use. If the room is large, draughty or poorly insulated, the heater may run normally but still feel underpowered.

Check the heat setting

1. Select the highest safe heat setting your model offers.
2. Set the thermostat a little above the current room temperature.
3. Wait long enough for the heater to cycle and stabilise.

Expected result: if the room was simply too large or cold, the heater should feel warmer over time but may still not heat every area evenly.

Check the room conditions

1. Close doors and windows.
2. Reduce draughts where possible.
3. Move the heater to a central, unobstructed position with clear airflow.

Expected result: the room should warm more effectively if heat loss was the main issue.

Check whether the appliance is being used as intended

1. Use it only in line with the room size and conditions recommended for domestic heating.
2. Do not cover it or dry laundry on it.
3. If it still seems too weak for the space, consider a more suitable heating solution.
