If the heater has power but no warmth, the most common causes are a low heat setting, a room temperature that is already at or above the target, an open window detection pause, or an active timer or week programme. For these heaters, the manual states that the unit stops heating when the set temperature has been reached, and some models also use open window detection and timers that can place the heater into standby.
Check the current mode
- Confirm that heating, not fan mode, is selected on the control panel or remote.
- Choose a heat setting rather than ventilation if your model offers both.
- If the display shows a set temperature, raise it a few degrees above the room temperature and wait a minute.
Expected result: the heater should begin producing warmth once the target is higher than the room temperature. If it does, the earlier setting was simply too low.
Check timer and open window functions
- Look for a timer or week timer setting that may be ending the heating cycle.
- If open window detection is active, close any open window and wait for the cycle to re-check the room temperature.
- Turn the function off temporarily if your model allows this, then test the heater again.
Expected result: the heater should resume heating once the programme no longer requests standby.
Check the installation and surroundings
- Make sure the heater stands level and has the space around it recommended for safe operation.
- Remove anything covering the heater or blocking airflow.
- Check that the plug is fully inserted and the wall socket is working with another suitable appliance.
Expected result: the heater should respond consistently when it has power, space and the correct settings.
Stop using the product immediately if you notice burning smells, repeated cut-outs, damaged cable or plug, or any sign that the heater is unsafe to run. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.
