Why is my egg cooker’s indicator light not coming on?

Modified on Mon, 24 Aug at 7:02 PM

If the appliance seems to heat but the light stays off, the indicator may be faulty or the cooker may not be receiving power properly. The manuals describe an on/off switch with indicator light, so the light should normally show when the appliance is in use. fileciteturn0file11turn0file10

  1. Check the plug and socket first, then confirm the switch is in the on position. If the appliance does not heat either, the issue is likely with power or connection rather than the light alone.
  2. Look closely at the light in normal room lighting. Some indicators are subtle, especially in bright kitchens.
  3. Unplug the appliance, allow it to cool and clean the switch area gently with a dry cloth. Do not let moisture enter the base.
  4. Repeat a short test cycle. If the cooker heats normally but the light never appears, the indicator may not be working as intended.

Expected result: The indicator light should come on when the appliance is switched on and heating.

Stop using the appliance immediately if: the light issue comes with flickering power, sparking, a hot plug, burning smell or any sign of electrical damage. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, stop using the product and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
