Why does my egg cooker not switch on when I plug it in?

If your egg cooker does nothing at all, start with the safest checks first. Unplug it before inspecting the lead, plug and socket, and stop using the appliance immediately if you notice damage, heat, burning smell or moisture near the electrical parts.

Check the power supply

1. Try a socket you know is working with another appliance.
2. Check that the plug is fully inserted and the lead is not twisted tightly or trapped.
3. If the socket is switched, confirm it is on.

If the cooker powers up in a different socket, the first socket was likely the cause.

Check the appliance setup

1. Make sure the egg cooker is on a flat, stable surface.
2. Confirm that the lid and egg tray are fitted correctly.
3. Use the measuring cup and add the amount of cold water needed for the intended result.

Some egg cookers will not behave as expected if the water container is empty, incorrectly filled or the parts are not assembled properly.

Look for signs of electrical or internal fault

1. Check whether the indicator light comes on when switched on.
2. Listen for any unusual silence where you would normally hear the cooking cycle begin.
3. If the appliance still shows no sign of life after trying a different socket, stop using it.

Do not open the housing or attempt any electrical repair. If the issue remains unresolved, contact the retailer or store where the appliance was purchased.
