What should I do if my cake maker cord feels warm or damaged?

A cord that feels warm, loose or visibly damaged needs immediate attention, because mains-powered cake makers should not be used with uncertain electrical condition. The safest first step is to stop cooking and remove power before checking anything else.

1. Switch the appliance off and unplug it from the wall socket.
