If your cordless travel iron does not switch on or charge, start by checking the USB power source and cable. Because this model uses a battery and low-voltage charging, a weak supply or an incomplete charge can easily look like a fault.
First checks
- Connect the iron with the supplied USB cable to a known working USB power source. Expected result: the iron begins charging. If nothing happens, move on.
- Leave it connected long enough for a full charge, rather than testing it after a very short time. Expected result: the battery has enough energy for cordless use. If it still will not start, continue.
- Check that the charging cable is not bent, loose or visibly damaged. Expected result: the connection stays stable while charging. If the cable is damaged, stop using it.
- Make sure the power bank function or battery mode is being used as intended for this model, and that any removable soleplate cover is not obstructing normal use. Expected result: the iron powers up only when the battery is ready.
Model-specific note
The supplied product data for the Princess Iron and Travel models lists USB charging, battery power and cordless use time, so charge state is central to normal operation
When to stop using it
Stop using the iron if the battery becomes hot, the cable or charging port is damaged, or you notice swelling, leakage or a burnt smell. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.
