If the iron warms up but clothes still stay creased, the issue is often temperature selection, steam use or a soleplate that is not fully ready. These irons are designed to work at different fabric settings, so the next check is to match the setting to the garment.
- Check the garment label and set the thermostat to the lowest suitable fabric level first, then move up only if needed.
- If you are using steam, wait until the iron is properly heated before trying steam functions, because steam on a low setting can perform poorly and may let water escape.
- Test on a plain cotton cloth to see whether the iron glides and removes light creases normally.
- If the soleplate feels sticky or dirty, allow the iron to cool fully and clean it only as described in the manual, using a soft damp cloth and, where relevant, the self-clean function.
The expected result is smoother gliding and visible crease removal after the iron reaches the correct temperature. If the iron still leaves garments looking unchanged, or the heat seems unstable, stop using it and return it to the retailer or store where it was purchased.
Do not force the iron over fabrics that are not suitable for the chosen setting. Avoid continuing to use it if the soleplate is damaged, warped or visibly contaminated in a way you cannot safely clean.
