Why does my kettle have a weak or uneven pour?

A weak or uneven pour is often caused by a blocked spout, a dirty filter or scale build-up near the outlet. Clean the kettle only when it is unplugged and fully cool, and stop if the pour remains unpredictable.

What to check first

1. Unplug the kettle and let it cool.
2. Inspect the spout, filter area and lid edge for limescale or trapped debris.
3. Remove and rinse any filter or spout part that is designed to come out on your model.
4. Boil a normal amount of water and pour slowly to see whether the stream improves.
5. Check whether the kettle is being tilted too far or too little during pouring.

What the result means

• If the flow improves after cleaning, the spout or filter was likely blocked.
• If the kettle still pours unevenly, the spout shape or internal outlet may be damaged.
• If water spills from another area during pouring, stop using it.

When to stop using it

Stop using the kettle if the spout is cracked, loose or leaking, or if hot water escapes in an unsafe way. Do not prise out fixed parts or alter the pouring opening.
