If the indicator light does not illuminate, the kettle may not be receiving power, may not be seated correctly, or may already have switched itself off. Some models in this range use an on/off switch with an indicator light, so a missing light often points to a supply or contact issue rather than a display fault.
- Check the mains socket, plug and lead first. If the socket works with another appliance, plug the kettle back in and try again.
- Remove the kettle from the base and replace it carefully. Observe whether the light comes on as soon as the switch is pressed. If it does, the kettle was not seated correctly.
- Make sure the kettle is not empty. Boil-dry protection can switch the kettle off, and some models will not remain active without sufficient water.
- If the light remains off but the kettle otherwise works, clean away any residue around the base contact points and test again once everything is dry.
Stop using the kettle if the switch feels loose, the cord is damaged, or the base gets hot without the light behaving normally. Do not attempt to repair the electrical parts yourself. If the issue continues after these checks, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.
