Grease should stay in the cooking area, so spills usually point to overfilling, incorrect positioning or a blocked drip route. If hot grease is reaching the plug, cord or thermostat connection, stop using the grill pan immediately and let it cool.
- Check that the appliance is level and sitting securely on its feet. Expected result: grease remains where it belongs instead of running to one side.
- Reduce the amount of fat or oily food in the pan. Expected result: less liquid collects at the edges and overflows.
- Inspect the lid and steam exhaust for build-up that may be forcing liquid out of the wrong place. Clean only after cooling. Expected result: grease and steam can escape normally.
- Wipe the outside edge and surrounding worktop after each use so old residue does not look like a new leak. Expected result: you can tell whether the problem is ongoing.
- If grease continues to drip from the body, the lid or the electrical connection area, stop using the appliance and do not try to seal or patch it.
Use only moderate amounts of oil and avoid adding very wet marinades straight into the appliance. If the issue remains unresolved, or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.
