If the keep warm rack is not holding food at a sensible serving temperature, the barbecue may be set too low, losing heat too quickly, or being used in conditions where the rack cannot do its job effectively. On models with a hood, the lid position and overall heat level affect how well warmth is retained.
1. Check the heat level
- Increase the thermostat slightly and let the barbecue stabilise.
- Place the food on the rack only after the main grilling area is hot.
- Observe whether warmth improves within a few minutes.
If food remains cool, the rack may not be receiving enough heat from the grill.
2. Review how the rack is being used
- Do not overcrowd the rack.
- Keep thicker or denser foods on the main grill until fully cooked.
- Use the rack only for short holding periods, not long storage.
If the food cools quickly even with careful use, continue to the next step.
3. Check for setup issues
- Confirm the rack is assembled and positioned as the manual shows.
- Make sure the hood or windscreen is not blocking normal airflow.
- Ensure the barbecue is preheated properly before using the rack.
If the rack is bent, loose or cannot sit securely, stop using the barbecue. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.
