Why does my cordless heating blanket stop after less than an hour?

Modified on Mon, 24 Aug at 2:22 PM

The cordless heating blanket is designed to run for a limited time, so a shorter operating period may be normal if the battery is nearly empty, the heat setting is higher, or the room is cold. The product data states an approximate use time of 90 minutes and three heat settings.

  1. Check the chosen heat setting. Expected result: the blanket should last longer on a lower setting than on a higher one.
  2. Confirm the power bank was fully charged before use. Expected result: a partially charged bank will reduce running time.
  3. Make sure the blanket is not being used folded, compressed or covered by extra insulation. Expected result: trapped heat can trigger early shut-off or reduce usable time.
  4. Observe whether the blanket stops at around the expected operating window. Expected result: if it runs for roughly the stated period, the battery may simply be discharging normally.
  5. If the blanket now stops much earlier than before on the same setting, unplug it and stop using it. Expected result: a clear drop in runtime can point to a battery or heating fault.

Do not continue using the blanket if it cuts out together with heat spots, damage, smells or visible swelling of the power bank. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
