Why is the dummy camera LED not flashing anymore?

Modified on Mon, 24 Aug at 2:19 PM

If the flashing light has stopped, the first things to check are the batteries and the battery contacts. On the Smartwares dummy camera 10.016.07, a flashing light is part of the product features, so a complete loss of that effect usually points to power or contact issues.

1. Replace the batteries

  1. Fit a fresh set of AA batteries in the correct direction.
  2. Close the compartment securely and wait briefly for the effect to restart.

If the light returns, the old batteries had reached the end of their life.

2. Inspect the battery contacts

  1. Look for visible dirt, whitening, leakage or bent contacts.
  2. If there is only light dust, wipe gently with a dry cloth.

If the contacts are corroded or damaged, the battery connection may be unreliable.

3. Check whether the unit is switched on, if applicable

  1. Make sure the product has been set up exactly as described in its instructions.
  2. Do not force any parts that do not move freely.

If the light still does not flash after fresh batteries, the product may have an internal fault.

4. Stop using it if there is leakage or heat

Stop using the dummy camera if the batteries leak, the compartment smells unusual or any part becomes hot. Do not open or repair the housing. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased. Product data: 10.016.07, generic troubleshooting.
