Why does my dummy camera feel lighter or heavier than expected?

If the dummy camera feels different in weight from what you expected, that can be normal because the two models use different materials and power arrangements. Stop using the product if the body feels loose inside, has rattling parts, or shows cracking, leakage or signs of internal damage.

Check which version you have

1. Confirm whether the camera is the plastic version with a flashing light or the aluminium-housing version without a flashing light.
2. Compare the feel of the housing, not just the outer appearance.

If the weight matches the version you have, the difference is likely normal.

Check for loose internal parts

1. Gently tilt the unit and listen for rattling.
2. Open the battery compartment only if the unit is dry and cool.
3. Make sure any batteries sit firmly and the compartment closes correctly.

If the rattling stops after refitting the batteries, that was the cause.

Look for damage

1. Check for broken mounting points, damaged seams or corrosion.
2. Do not keep using it if the housing opens unexpectedly or feels unstable.

If the camera still feels abnormal after these checks, or if safe use is uncertain, stop using it and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased for the available next steps.
