A slow warm-up can be caused by a low setting, poor placement on the mattress, or a power issue at the plug or controller connection. If the blanket gives off a burnt smell, feels locally hot, or shows visible damage, stop using it straight away.
Confirm the setting and warm-up time
- Set the underblanket to its lowest heat setting first, then allow a few minutes for the temperature to rise.
- Check whether the controller display or indicator changes when you adjust the setting.
- If your blanket has a three-setting controller, test the next setting up after the first warm-up period.
These models are designed with multiple heat settings, and a low setting will naturally warm more gently than a higher one. If the blanket still feels almost cold after a sensible warm-up period, move on to the next check.
Look at the supply and connection points
- Unplug the blanket and inspect the controller connections.
- Push each detachable controller firmly back into place if your model has removable controllers.
- Check the mains plug and cable for damage, loose fit or signs of wear.
When to stop using it
- If the blanket only becomes warm in one small area.
- If the controller behaves erratically or does not change setting cleanly.
- If the fabric, cable or connectors look damaged.
Do not keep using the blanket if the heating remains weak and you cannot identify a simple setup cause. Stop using it and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased, who can explain the available next steps.
