Why is my solar light touch sensor not responding?

If the touch sensor on your solar light does not respond, the panel may be dirty, the unit may be damp or the touch area may not be sensing your finger properly. Touch-controlled solar lights can be sensitive to moisture, thick gloves and surface contamination, so start with simple checks before assuming a fault.

Check the touch area carefully

1. Wipe the touch area with a soft, dry cloth and remove any dust, rain marks or residue.
2. Make sure your hand is dry and try again without gloves.
3. Confirm the light is switched on and has enough charge to respond.
4. Retest the sensor in a sheltered location if it has just been exposed to rain or condensation.

If the touch area only works intermittently, that may indicate moisture inside the housing or a weak battery. In that situation, do not keep pressing the control repeatedly, as continued use could make the fault worse.

Stop using the product if the control area is cracked, wet inside or hot to touch. If the touch sensor still does not respond after drying and recharging, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
