Why does my solar groundspot not light up at night?

If your solar groundspot does not light up at night, the most common reasons are low charge, a switched-off unit, or the sensor not seeing darkness clearly. Because this is an outdoor low-voltage product, keep the checks external and avoid opening any housing.

1. Make sure the on/off switch is in the on position if your model has one. Expected result: the groundspot should be armed to light when it gets dark.
2. Check that the panel has received a full day of daylight without shading. Expected result: after sufficient charging, the light should illuminate in the evening.
3. Clean the solar panel and surrounding surface carefully. Expected result: less dirt means better charging and more reliable night-time operation.
4. Move the groundspot if nearby garden lighting, porch lights or reflective surfaces are confusing the sensor. Expected result: the light should respond more consistently to natural darkness.
5. If the product uses a replaceable battery, check that it is fitted correctly and is not exhausted. Expected result: a healthy battery should restore night-time output.
