If the picture is blurry, dark or hard to use, the camera lens may need cleaning, the lighting may be poor or the feeder may be placed where the signal and view are obstructed. The camera in these models is intended for checking feeding and pet activity, so a clear lens and a stable position matter.
- Clean the lens gently with a dry lens cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth. If the picture improves, the issue was likely dirt or fingerprints rather than the camera itself.
- Check the room lighting and move the feeder away from strong backlight, reflections or dark corners. The expected result is a clearer image with better contrast.
- Confirm the feeder is standing level and not vibrating. Movement can make the picture look soft even when the camera is working normally.
- Open the live view in the app again after a few seconds. If the image is still dark, distorted or unreadable, stop relying on the camera for monitoring until the issue is resolved.
If the issue remains unresolved, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.
Stop using the product if the camera image becomes unreliable enough that you cannot check feeding safely.
