Why is my pet feeder making unusual noises while feeding?

Unusual noises during feeding are often caused by dry food catching in the mechanism, a loose bowl or the feeder standing unevenly. If the sound is harsh, repeated or accompanied by strain, stop using the product until it has been checked.

Check the food path

1. Switch the feeder off before removing any visible crumbs around the outlet.
2. Use only dry food within the size range stated in the supplied instructions.
3. Refill with fresh food and test a short manual feed.

If the sound reduces after clearing the outlet, the mechanism was probably obstructed by food dust or a small jam.

Check how the feeder stands

1. Place the feeder on a flat, stable surface.
2. Make sure any non-slip feet are resting properly, if fitted on your model.
3. Check that the bowl is seated correctly and not rubbing against the housing.

If the noise changes when the unit is repositioned, instability may be adding vibration.

Stop using it if needed

1. Stop using the feeder if it grinds, rattles loudly or smells hot.
2. Do not force the mechanism or put fingers near moving parts.
3. If the issue remains unresolved, contact the retailer or store where the product was purchased.
