Why is my fan difficult to assemble or the guard not lining up?

If the fan is hard to assemble or the guard does not line up, the parts may be in the wrong order, not fully seated or tightened unevenly. Do not force the parts together. If anything looks bent, cracked or does not fit as expected, stop assembly and stop using the fan.

1. Unplug the fan and lay out all parts before trying again.
2. Match each part to the sequence shown in the manual. The standing fan instructions show that the base, motor unit, rear fan grille, blade and front grille must be fitted in the correct order and secured firmly.
3. Check that the base nut, screws and clips are present and correctly positioned. A guard that sits off-centre often means one fixing point is not seated.
4. Make sure the blade is fitted carefully and is not catching on the grille. The manuals warn that blades can be sharp, so keep fingers clear while checking alignment.
5. Once assembled, confirm the fan sits level and the grille is secure before plugging it in.

Stop using the fan if the guard will not lock in place, a screw will not tighten, or the blade touches the grille. If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
