If the fan appears to run but you feel very little or no airflow, the problem is often a blocked air path, a low speed setting or a safety stop affecting performance. This is a common first-line troubleshooting situation with household fans, and the safest approach is to check the controls and clean away visible dust before doing anything else. Unplug the appliance first.
Check the visible airflow path
- Make sure the front and back of the fan are not blocked by curtains, wall coverings, boxes or furniture.
- Confirm the speed is set above the lowest setting.
- Check whether the fan is angled away from you or set so that airflow is being directed elsewhere.
- Inspect the vents and guard for heavy dust build-up.
Clean and retest
- Use a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the air outlet and vents.
- Wipe the outside with a dry or slightly damp cloth only.
- Do not allow water to enter the motor or heater section.
Stop using it if
- The fan still appears to run with no useful airflow.
- You notice heat, smell, smoke or unusual vibration.
If the issue remains unresolved or safe use is uncertain, stop using the product and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
