If the doorbell worked once and then stopped after installation, the most likely causes are a loose connection, the button not being seated properly or the unit being mounted in a position that strains the cable. Stop using the product if the cable is pinched, the housing is cracked or any part becomes hot.
- Check that the bell push and chime are fitted securely on their mounts. If either part has shifted, realign it and retest.
- Inspect the accessible wiring for loose terminals or a wire that has slipped out during mounting. Tighten only if it is safe to do so.
- Confirm that the cable is not trapped behind the doorframe or under a fixing screw. A pinched wire can fail soon after installation.
- Test the doorbell again with gentle pressure on the button. If it works when the pressure is light but fails when the unit is mounted, the installation is likely affecting the switch.
- If the fault remains after these checks, or if you are uncertain about the wiring, stop using the product and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
New-installation faults are usually caused by movement, not by the melody or volume settings. If the bell push does not sit correctly, it may work briefly and then fail again, so it is worth checking the mounting and cable path first.
