Why does my slow juicer leak from the base or spout?

If your slow juicer leaks, the usual causes are an incorrectly fitted jug, a non-drip part not sitting properly, too much juice in the tank, or residue around the sealing surfaces. Switch the appliance off, unplug it and keep it upright before checking for leaks.

Check the container and outlet

1. Empty the juice tank if it is near full. This model has a 900 ml juice tank and a 0.9 l pulp container, so overfilling can cause spillover.
2. Make sure the non-drip system is positioned correctly and that the jug or tank is aligned beneath the outlet.
3. Inspect the outlet area for pulp or fibres that could stop the juice from flowing cleanly.
4. Refit all removable parts carefully and test again with a small amount of produce.

Look for assembly issues

1. Remove and replace the filter, screw and chamber in the correct order.
2. Check whether any seal or edge is wet with juice from a previous use, then dry it before reassembly.
3. Watch where the leak appears during a short test. A drip at the outlet usually points to alignment, while leaks from underneath can suggest incorrect fitting or damage.

When to stop using it

Stop using the juicer if juice leaks from the motor housing, if the appliance wobbles badly, or if any crack or damage is visible on the container or housing. Do not continue to run it while liquid is escaping near electrical parts. If the problem is still not resolved, contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
