Eggs that are hard to peel are often related to freshness, cooling or preparation rather than a fault in the egg cooker. A few small changes in how the eggs are handled after cooking can make a clear difference.
- After the buzzer or ready signal, remove the egg holder and rinse the eggs under cold tap water. Expected result: the eggs cool quickly. Cooling helps the shell separate more cleanly.
- Check whether the eggs were pierced at the blunt end before cooking, if your model includes the piercer and the instructions call for it. Expected result: piercing helps reduce cracking and can improve the finish.
- Use eggs of similar size and avoid very fresh eggs if you want easier peeling. Expected result: shells lift more evenly. Very fresh eggs can be harder to peel.
- Repeat one cycle with the same water amount and a full cold rinse. Expected result: peeling improves. If the eggs still cook unusually or the appliance behaves inconsistently, stop using it and contact the retailer or store where it was purchased.
- Check that the egg tray and lid were not overcrowded. Expected result: steam can circulate properly. Overloading may affect the result.
This is a food-preparation issue rather than an electrical fault unless the appliance is overheating, leaking or behaving unpredictably.
